On the afternoon of June 27 in Hanoi , the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Central Youth Union coordinated with units to organize a press meeting to introduce the contest to learn about the tradition of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; and the contest to learn about the 80th anniversary of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.

80 years of glorious tradition of the heroic army

Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Tran Viet Nang - Head of the Army Youth Department - said that the contest to learn about the tradition of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day is for Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad.

Through the contest, we aim to widely propagate to cadres, soldiers, youth and people about the tradition of the nation, the heroic Vietnam People's Army, the meaning of National Defense Day and the great achievements in building a strong national defense.

Thereby, contributing to strengthening the trust and promoting the responsibility of the youth and people of the whole country towards the task of building the army, consolidating national defense, building and firmly protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

According to the plan, the main content of the contest revolves around the viewpoints of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on military , national defense, army building and national defense.

Along with that are the history, tradition, culture of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people, the history, tradition, functions and tasks of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, the significance of the National Defense Day as well as the revolutionary action movements to protect the Fatherland of the Youth Union, Association, Team, the economic, political, cultural, social, defense and security situation of Vietnam in the cause of national renewal under the leadership of the Party.

At the same time, personal feelings about the history and tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, the qualities and noble image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, express deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of previous generations.

Besides, it demonstrates the responsibility to continue and promote traditions in studying, working, building the army, strengthening national defense, contributing to building a prosperous and happy country and firmly protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

The contest to learn about the tradition of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day takes place in the following forms: online interactive test from September to November 2024; written test including group A for all participants to answer 10 questions, group B for children (under 16 years old) to write an essay.

The time to receive the exam is from September 1 to September 30 at the Air Defense - Air Force Museum. The award ceremony is expected to take place in December 2024 during the March to the Source program in Military Region 1 (Cao Bang province).

For the writing contest, the individual prizes are expected to be awarded 80 including 5 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 25 C prizes and 40 consolation prizes. The collective prizes will be awarded 35 prizes to groups with outstanding achievements in organizing and participating in the contest.

Competition to learn about the tradition of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army

At the meeting, the organizing committee also introduced a contest to learn about the 80th anniversary of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army for Vietnamese citizens in the country, which was implemented in the form of a written test.

To participate, the author chooses one of 10 topics given by the organizers to write an entry of no more than 5,000 words on the 80 years of glorious tradition of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.

The time for receiving entries is from September 1 to September 30 at the B52 Victory Museum, Hanoi Capital Command. The award ceremony is expected to take place in December 2024 during the March to the Source program in Military Region 1 (Cao Bang province).

The award structure for the 80th anniversary of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army is expected to award 80 prizes, including 5 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 25 C prizes and 40 consolation prizes.

Sharing with the press, Colonel Nguyen The Manh - Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - hopes that press agencies will step up propaganda work on the content and meaning of the two competitions to spread widely among the Vietnamese people.
