Agree on proposal to change forest use purpose to implement 8 projects

This afternoon, April 2, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong, Chairman of the Provincial Appraisal Council chaired a meeting to appraise the content of the proposal to approve the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to other purposes to implement 8 projects in the province.

At the meeting, the Appraisal Council gave opinions on 8 projects including: Emergency evacuation project out of flooded and landslide areas on the riverbank of Cu Bac village, Vinh O commune, Vinh Linh district; Traffic route to Ba Voi waterfall, Dakrong district; High-tech pig farm with a scale of 2,400 sows; Eastern bypass road of Dong Ha city; Road connecting from the side gate of La Vang Mother of God Pilgrimage Center to Hai Le industrial cluster and parking lot No. 1 according to La Vang urban planning; Planting, preliminary processing, and processing of medicinal herbs associated with product brand promotion; Investment in construction of works (phase 2) Khe Sanh National Defense Economic Zone, traffic works: Road to Se Pu resettlement area, Huong Lap commune; Expansion of Dong Ha city people's cemetery in Ward 4 (phase 1).

The above projects all have a large part of land use mainly related to production forests that need to be converted according to legal regulations to ensure implementation conditions.

At the meeting, the Appraisal Council members analyzed and discussed many issues related to the above 8 projects.

At the same time, it is recommended that localities and investors need to supplement relevant documents and procedures to ensure the required records, especially land use plans, full project names, and environmental licenses.

After listening to the opinions of the members of the Appraisal Council, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ha Sy Dong, requested the localities and investors of the projects including: Road to Ba Voi waterfall, Dakrong district; Investment in construction works (phase 2) Khe Sanh National Defense Economic Zone, traffic works; Road to Se Pu resettlement area, Huong Lap commune to quickly supplement missing documents and procedures such as land use plans and environmental licenses.

In order to submit to the Provincial People's Council for approval of the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to other purposes for the above 8 projects, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to continue reviewing related documents and procedures.

The process of reviewing the documents must be carried out seriously, in accordance with the procedures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations. After reviewing the documents, the Appraisal Council unanimously approved the proposal to change the purpose of forest use to other purposes to implement the above 8 projects.
