In the first 6 months of 2023, the Hanoi Tax Department will carry out the task of collecting the State budget in the context of an economy with intertwined opportunities, advantages and difficulties, challenges but with more difficulties and challenges; inflationary pressure, exchange rates, and interest rates are increasing; prices of many input factors, production and business costs continue to increase; large, traditional import and export markets are narrowing.
In that context, the Hanoi Tax Department has proactively followed the close direction of the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, the Ministry of Finance , and the General Department of Taxation to develop programs and plans to implement tax tasks in 2023 right from the beginning of the year.
Therefore, the tax work in the first 6 months of 2023 of the Hanoi Tax Department has achieved positive results.
Specifically, the total budget revenue in the city managed by the Tax Department in the first 6 months of 2023 is estimated at VND 201,975 billion, reaching 62% of the ordinance estimate, up 21.6% over the same period in 2022.
In the first 6 months of 2023, Hanoi Tax Department estimates to collect and handle tax arrears of VND 5,320 billion; estimated to complete 7,251 inspections and checks with the total amount handled through inspections and checks estimated to be VND 6,092 billion.

Hanoi Tax Department will promote effective implementation of debt management and tax debt enforcement in the last 6 months of the year.
With the goal of striving to comprehensively complete the assigned targets and plans for 2023, the Hanoi Tax Department will deploy tax tasks for the last 6 months of 2023 with a focus on ensuring comprehensive revenue sources, collecting correctly - fully - promptly collecting revenues to the State budget, focusing on solutions to nurture revenue sources and expand the base.
Accordingly, the Hanoi Tax Department continues to promote the modernization of tax management towards taxpayers with three basic pillars of the Tax System Reform Strategy for the period 2021-2030.
At the same time, promote propaganda work, support taxpayers, create an environment for businesses and taxpayers to quickly restore production and business; especially focus on applying digital platforms in propaganda work to listen to problems, support businesses and taxpayers to promptly grasp tax policies and tax administrative procedures.
In particular, promptly deploy the directions of the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Taxation in implementing the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 470 on continuing to resolutely and effectively implement tasks and solutions to remove difficulties for production and business of people and enterprises.
Regularly grasp and closely monitor the health situation, production and business activities of taxpayers; closely monitor, evaluate and analyze factors affecting revenue and budget collection progress, thereby promptly proposing effective management solutions; recommend to People's Committees at all levels to direct local departments and branches to coordinate with tax authorities to strengthen revenue management and promote measures to prevent budget losses.
Strengthen inspections at tax authority headquarters; review businesses with signs of high risk and potential for large revenue increases by topic such as: E-commerce, related transactions, real estate transfers.
Strongly deploy information technology applications in detecting, preventing and handling cases of illegal use of electronic invoices.
