Before that, at around 6:00 p.m. the same day, a 7-seat car was traveling on National Highway 1 from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai.
When the car had just passed the bridge about 100m (bordering Dong Nai and Binh Duong), it suddenly turned left, broke a 30m long section of the guardrail, and then plunged straight into the river. The number of people on board is currently unknown.
The accident site is a gap between the old and new Dong Nai bridges, about 3 meters wide. According to local residents, after falling into the river, the 7-seat car remained afloat and drifted downstream about 50 meters before sinking.
Professional divers as well as local people dived into the river many times to search but without results.
