Body of drowning victim found at Ma Lu Thang hydroelectric lake

On the morning of October 21, the authorities of Pung Luong commune, Lao Cai province found the body of Ly A Sinh, a victim of drowning at Ma Lu Thang hydroelectric lake on the afternoon of October 20.

According to the leader of Pung Luong commune, at about 9:50 a.m. on October 21, the authorities found the body of Ly A Sinh (residing in Ma Lu Thang village, Pung Luong commune) and handed it over according to the family's wishes to arrange the funeral.

Before that, at around 3:00 p.m. on October 20, Mr. Ly A Sinh and his cousin Ly A Cua, after drinking alcohol, went swimming at Ma Lu Thang Hydropower Lake - a project with a capacity of 96,000 ^m3 of water. While swimming, due to carelessness, Mr. Ly A Sinh drowned.

Immediately after the incident, the Pung Luong commune authorities mobilized forces to search and requested Ma Lu Thang Hydropower Plant to release water to support the rescue work.

It is known that in the area of ​​this hydroelectric lake, there have been warning signs warning of danger and prohibiting swimming. The Pung Luong commune authorities have also advised people not to go down to the hydroelectric lake area to avoid unfortunate accidents.
