Ho Chi Minh City announces Tet holiday schedule 2025

The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just announced the hanging of the national flag and the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025. Accordingly, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will have Tet holiday from January 25 to February 2, 2025, from December 26 to January 5 of the lunar calendar.

Agencies and units that do not have fixed Saturday and Sunday holidays every week should base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange the Tet holiday schedule appropriately and in accordance with the law.

In case the employee is not a civil servant or public employee as mentioned above, the employer decides to choose the Tet holiday option. Specifically, choose one day at the end of the year of Giap Thin and the first four days of the year of At Ty, or two days at the end of the year of Giap Thin and the first three days of the year of At Ty, or three days at the end of the year of Giap Thin and the first two days of the year of At Ty.

If the weekly day off coincides with a public holiday or Tet holiday according to regulations, the employee will be given a compensatory day off on the next working day. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee encourages employers to apply the Lunar New Year holiday for employees as prescribed for civil servants and public employees.

For agencies, units, enterprises, schools, hospitals, armed forces units and households to fly the national flag on the above holidays.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, Thu Duc City, and heads of agencies and units to mobilize, remind, and guide the hanging of the national flag in residential areas and units under their management.

At the same time, arrange the working departments reasonably to handle the work continuously, ensuring good service to the organization and the people. Arrange the on-duty force to ensure security and order, fire prevention, safety of agencies, units, and public entertainment areas.

On the same day, two securities companies had connection errors with HoSE.

Funan Securities Joint Stock Company (FNS) has just reported a problem connecting to HoSE since 9:00 a.m. on December 23.

Up to now, FNS representative said that the system has been restored, service connection between HoSE and FNS has been working, FNS customers have traded normally again on December 24.

On the same day, December 23, another company, NH Vietnam Securities (NHSV), also announced an information technology incident related to transactions.

According to the report, from 9:07 a.m. on December 23, NHSV's data transmission line to HoSE had a connection problem. Therefore, customer orders for stocks on HoSE were interrupted.

This problem has now been completely resolved by NHSV and customers can transact normally, NHSV representative informed.

Conditions for vehicles transporting dangerous goods on road from January 1, 2025

The Government has just issued a decree regulating the list of dangerous goods, the transportation of dangerous goods, and the procedures for granting licenses and certificates of completion of training programs for drivers or escorts transporting dangerous goods on roads.

The Decree stipulates that vehicles transporting dangerous goods on roads must comply with the provisions of Clause 3, Article 51 of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety. Vehicles transporting dangerous goods must have a sticker identifying dangerous goods and install warning lights and signals.

If a vehicle carries different types of dangerous goods, the vehicle must have all the symbols of those goods affixed to it. Organizations and individuals loading and unloading dangerous goods on the vehicle and storing them in warehouses and yards must comply with the instructions on storage, loading, unloading and transporting each type of dangerous goods or in the notice of the transport hirer.

The loading and unloading of dangerous goods must be directly guided and supervised by the charterer or the escort. Do not load together goods that can interact and increase the level of danger in the same vehicle.

According to the decree, it is not allowed to transport explosives, gas, gasoline, oil and other flammable, explosive substances and desensitized solids through tunnels with a length of 100m or more.

On the same ferry, do not simultaneously transport traffic participants or passengers (except drivers transporting dangerous goods, escorts, and ferry attendants) with vehicles (licensed to transport dangerous goods) transporting explosives, gas, gasoline, oil, and other flammable and explosive substances.
