Honoring the spirit of creative entrepreneurship and green transformation of women in the Central region

The series of activities of the "Women's Creative Startup and Green Transformation" Competition at the Central Region level in 2024 held in Quang Ngai province, from September 25-27, 2024, is an opportunity to evaluate, rank and honor the winning Startup Projects and spread the spirit of entrepreneurship widely in the Region.

Presentation round of the Final round of the Central Region Regional Competition

Following the Final Series of the Women's Entrepreneurship Competition at the Northern and Southern levels, the Regional round in the Central region will be held from September 25-27, 2024 in Quang Ngai province.

With the theme "Women's creative startups and green transformation", the Competition is one of the key activities of the Project "Supporting women startups for the period 2017 - 2025" approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 939/QD-TTg dated June 30, 2017 (Project 939).

25 candidates were selected for the presentation competition.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Regional Women's Entrepreneurship Competition in the Central region has attracted a large number of women entrepreneurs/businesses, cooperatives/businesses owned/managed by women to participate in the competition. The projects have focused on the criteria set out such as: creativity, sustainability, green transformation, effective use of local resources... creating safe products, good for human health, environmentally friendly... Thereby contributing to solving urgent social problems and creating practical values ​​for the community, the goal is economic development, ensuring environmental sustainability.

After the preliminary round and training, the Startup Projects completed detailed project presentations to participate in the Regional Semi-Final round.

The presentation round of the Final Round of the Central Region Regional Competition took place from September 25 to 26, 2024 in Quang Ngai province. 25 outstanding candidates selected in the Central region (including 03 projects of women with disabilities) directly presented their startup ideas, introducing the novelty and creativity of their products, goods, and business models in a green direction or with the potential to contribute to creating a positive impact on the environment in accordance with the theme of the 2024 Competition.

This is an opportunity for candidates to demonstrate their ideas, presentation skills, and "conquer" the questions of the Jury. Outstanding projects, winning third prize or higher, will continue to participate in the National Finals of the 2024 Women's Entrepreneurship Competition, which will take place this coming October in Hanoi.

A series of exciting activities for women entrepreneurs in the Central region

- The award ceremony of the 2024 "Women's Creative Startup and Green Transformation" Competition at the Central Region level took place on the morning of September 27, 2024 to honor 25 outstanding Startup Projects that were ranked and awarded.

- The award ceremony of "Confident Vietnamese Women in Business" in 2024 within the framework of the implementation of the Long-term Cooperation Agreement for the period 2022 - 2027 to implement the WomenRise program "Improving the quality of life and empowering women through business development and health education" between the Vietnam Women's Union and Unilever Vietnam International Company Limited.

- Display and introduce products and goods of Startup Projects participating in the Regional Finals in the Central region taking place from September 25-27, 2024 with a scale of nearly 30 booths displaying products for Startup Projects to promote and introduce products, goods, services, exchange, cooperate, and connect markets of women in the Central region.

2024 is the 6th year that the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee organizes the Women's Startup Competition with the theme " Women's creative startups and green transformation " (Competition).

The contest continues to be implemented in the direction of expanding its scale, targeting more vulnerable women through the coordination of 6 agencies and units, which are ministries, branches, associations (agencies and units), while focusing on increasing professionalism, systematization, strictness, science and flexibility at both central and local levels, attracting women from all walks of life across the country to participate in the contest, greatly increasing both scale and quality.

At the reception and screening round at the provincial, municipal and coordinating agencies and units levels, 2,545 Startup Projects participated in the competition (an increase of 26% compared to the 2023 Competition).

80 Best Startup Projects out of nearly 300 typical Startup Projects were selected to participate in the Final round of the Northern, Central and Southern Regional Competition.
