At the training class, teachers are equipped with knowledge to be able to organize Vovinam competitions in schools.

Vovinam was chosen as one of the five subjects at the National Student Sports Competition in Hue.

This martial art not only helps students train physically, but also fosters patriotism, discipline, ethics and Vietnamese character in every move and breath.

The Ho Chi Minh City Vovinam student team won first place overall at the 2025 National Student Sports Tournament, affirming the strength, spirit and stature of the city's student generation.

Speaking at the opening of the training course, Ms. Huynh Le Nhu Trang - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that the training course opens a journey to spread the spirit of Vietnamese martial arts in the educational environment.

From there, Ho Chi Minh City will train students who are not only strong in knowledge, but also strong in physical strength, morality and national spirit.

After merging Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau into Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training realized that this was an opportunity for the Ho Chi Minh City education sector to make stronger progress.

To improve the overall quality of school physical education after the merger, the Department will organize two more training courses before the new school year begins in Region 2 (former Binh Duong) and Region 3 (former Ba Ria - Vung Tau).

In these two training courses, teachers will be equipped with knowledge to instruct Vovinam martial arts exercises for schools and organize Vovinam competitions in schools.

With a specific plan, the Department wants to focus on Vovinam Clubs in schools.

Before the merger, some district and county movement clubs managed and organized Vovinam activities in schools in coordination with the education sector, not as school clubs in the name of the school. The Department's Board of Directors wanted sports to be built in schools.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has 2,971 schools. The Department of Education and Training will coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Vovinam Federation to develop a long-term and systematic plan from the school level to the club level in schools.

Of which, 100 schools with physical education teachers who were coaches and athletes with Vovinam expertise were selected to build clubs in schools.

In addition to the training program, at the beginning of the school year, the Department of Education and Training planned a Vovinam martial arts performance with a record number of up to 55,000 students to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

Accordingly, 50,000 students will perform at their facilities via online television and 5,000 students will perform at Saigon River park.
