On the occasion of Vietnam Social Work Day, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health will officially launch a comprehensive health care program for people currently receiving care at social protection centers.
Accordingly, the Department of Health assigned 16 general and specialized hospitals to provide comprehensive support for health care activities for subjects being cared for and managed at social protection centers, including medical examination and treatment activities and other activities related to the health sector.
Specifically, specialized hospitals such as Mental Hospitals, Rehabilitation and Occupational Disease Treatment Hospitals, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Traditional Medicine Hospitals, etc. will proactively support remote medical consultation, organize consultations, and develop regular specialist examination plans at social protection centers. Thanks to that, patients no longer have to travel to hospitals for specialist examinations as before.
In addition, district and city general hospitals will sign comprehensive cooperation agreements with social protection centers to improve the effectiveness of health care for sponsored people.
The top priority is to strengthen and enhance the capacity of health stations at the centers, to be eligible to sign medical examination and treatment contracts with social insurance agencies according to the internal medicine clinic model.
On-site first aid training and support for transporting emergency patients to hospital will be undertaken by the 115 Emergency Center.
In addition, the Department of Health has assigned functional departments to proactively guide social protection centers to properly implement professional and technical procedures according to regulations.
At the same time, functional departments will coordinate to develop a set of quality criteria related to health care at the centers, as a basis for assessing the level of achievement and orientation for improvement in the coming time.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health continues to coordinate with the Departments of Health of Binh Duong , Binh Phuoc and Lam Dong provinces to deploy health insurance examination and treatment for subjects being cared for at social protection centers in these provinces.
At the same time, the department requested medical centers and district-level general hospitals in localities to continue supporting the transportation and emergency care of patients when necessary.
It is expected that on March 25, 2025, the Department of Health will organize a conference to deploy activities to improve the quality of health care at social protection centers under the Department of Health, starting a series of activities to improve the quality of health care at the centers.
