Ho Chi Minh City: Binh Trieu 1 Bridge has been completed, raised by 1.1m, and will open to traffic at the end of November.

After a month of construction, the 11,000-ton Binh Trieu 1 Bridge (Ho Chi Minh City) has been raised more than 1 meter. By the end of November 2025, the project will be fixed and the remaining items will be completed to open to traffic soon, reducing congestion at the eastern gateway of the city.

According to the reporter of Tin Tuc and Dan Toc Newspaper, after a month of hydraulic jacking, the ball weighing more than 11,000 tons was raised 1.1 meters higher. This elevation helps ships to pass through the Saigon River more easily, reduces the risk of ship jams every time the tide rises and ensures safety for both roads and waterways.

After completion, the bridge was more than 1 meter higher than the road surface.

According to the Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction), the clearance raising of Binh Trieu 1 Bridge has been completed as planned. Currently, the contractor has entered the phase of inspection, steel reinforcement, and bridge piers reinforcement. It is expected that by November 30, the bridge will be completed and the surface will be returned to traffic.

Under the bridge, hundreds of steel plates support the massive structure, creating a quiet construction site that is tense down to every steel span.

The project to raise the clearance of Binh Trieu 1 Bridge has a budget of 133 billion VND, starting from the end of 2024. From the end of August 2025, the bridge will limit car traffic for repairs. During this time, traffic at the eastern gateway of the city is often congested during rush hour.

From October 1, the engineering team will begin dismantling and transferring equipment to Binh Phuoc 1 Bridge - where the clearance raising project will continue.

Motorbikes are still allowed to circulate through Binh Trieu 1 Bridge during the clearance raising process.
