Ho Chi Minh City spends more than 104 billion VND to support community health collaborators

On the morning of November 11, at the 12th session of the 10th term of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City passed a resolution regulating the level of support for community health collaborators in Ho Chi Minh City. Implementation period is from January 1, 2024.

Specifically, community health collaborators in Thu Duc City and 16 districts receive a support level of VND500,000/person/month. Community health collaborators in 5 districts receive a support level of VND550,000/person/month.

In addition, partial support for the cost of purchasing family health insurance cards for community health collaborators who do not have health insurance cards is 300,000 VND/person/year.

The subjects of application include community health collaborators and related agencies, organizations and individuals. The total estimated budget is more than 104 billion VND, the funding source from the state budget is guaranteed according to the current budget decentralization.

The estimated budget to support more than 16,000 community health collaborators in 2024 is more than VND 99.5 billion. Of which, the budget to support more than 12,500 collaborators in Thu Duc City and 16 districts is more than VND 75 billion; the budget to support more than 3,600 collaborators in 5 districts is more than VND 24 billion. The estimated budget to partially support the budget for community health collaborators when participating in voluntary health insurance in 2024 is more than VND 4.8 billion.

The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City believes that this is an important legal basis for implementing the policy of developing a network of community health collaborators, an extension of the grassroots health system, to help the Ho Chi Minh City health sector perform well in communication, care and protection of people's health in the community.
