Ho Chi Minh City adjusts traffic light duration to serve the transportation of exam papers and high school graduation exam papers

TPO - The Department of Transport assigned the Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center and the Urban Traffic Management and Operation Center to proactively review and adjust traffic light duration on routes leading to exam locations to suit the actual situation, to avoid traffic congestion due to unreasonable light cycles affecting the transportation of exam papers, exam papers, invigilation, and exam participation.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has just issued a document requesting relevant units to coordinate to ensure traffic safety for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam.

Accordingly, in order to ensure traffic safety for the 2024 high school graduation exam, the Department of Transport assigned the Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center and the Urban Traffic Management and Operation Center to proactively review and adjust traffic light duration on the routes leading to the exam sites to suit the actual situation, to avoid traffic congestion due to unreasonable light cycles affecting the transportation of exam papers, exam papers, invigilation and exam participation.

Specifically, at points at risk of traffic congestion and points with complicated traffic order and safety in each locality, schools will organize exams according to the list provided by the Department of Education and Training (DET).

The Urban Traffic Management and Operation Center is assigned to strengthen the monitoring and supervision of traffic situations through the camera surveillance system to promptly report and request functional forces to support in regulating and organizing reasonable traffic flow during the exam period.

The Department of Transport Inspectorate will arrange forces to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training, Ho Chi Minh City Police, and the Youth Volunteer Force to regulate traffic and ensure order and traffic safety during the high school graduation exam.

The Department of Transport requested the Thanh Nien Xung Phong Public Service One Member Co., Ltd. to regularly check the technical safety and environmental protection conditions of ferries, buoys, bridges, life-saving equipment, fire and explosion prevention, etc.; to ensure the best safety conditions for operations at Binh Khanh ferry terminal (connecting Nha Be and Can Gio districts).

Thanh Nien Xung Phong Public Service One Member Co., Ltd. needs to increase the arrangement of personnel to regulate traffic via ferries and coordinate with functional forces at the terminals to regulate and ensure traffic to serve safety and smooth traffic during the exam;

In addition, priority lanes will be arranged for vehicles crossing the ferry at Binh Khanh ferry terminal to serve the transportation of exam papers, exam papers, personnel participating in the organization of the exam, invigilators, and candidates. In particular, a separate ferry will be arranged as a backup to ensure good transportation and service for the 2024 high school graduation exam.
