Dong Nai temporarily suspends road construction on National Day from tomorrow, August 29

(DN) - The Department of Construction of Dong Nai province has just issued Document No. 1806 on focusing on implementing measures to ensure traffic safety, serving the travel needs of people during the National Day holiday on September 2 and the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, the Department of Construction requires investors, construction units and contractors in the province to temporarily stop construction before August 29. At the same time, the units must urgently carry out the work of cleaning and returning the site. Specifically, materials and equipment must be neatly collected and the road surface returned to smooth. The units are also required to develop plans to ensure traffic safety, prevent fire and explosion, and arrange necessary human resources and equipment to promptly handle arising situations, ensuring smooth traffic during the holiday.

The Department of Construction also requires units managing, exploiting and maintaining road and inland waterway infrastructure to increase patrolling and inspection work on routes under their management. In particular, it is necessary to focus on maintaining and promptly repairing damage on asphalt concrete roads, damaged bridges and main roads. Detailed work includes: clearing trees and grass on both sides of the road to ensure visibility, repairing damaged sidewalks, and dredging drainage ditches. The road traffic signal system, markers, guardrails, road markings, buoys and waterway traffic lights also need to be reviewed, supplemented and edited.

To effectively handle unexpected situations, the Department of Construction requires BOT units to develop plans to ensure security and order, and traffic flow at toll stations when traffic volume suddenly increases. These units must arrange officers and employees to be on duty to guide, regulate traffic, and promptly handle and clear vehicles to limit congestion.

In addition, units are required to coordinate closely with other functional forces to ensure traffic safety and security. When traffic infrastructure incidents occur due to rain, floods, or accidents, units must proactively handle and promptly notify and maintain contact with the Department of Structure Management and Traffic Safety (under the Department of Construction).
