Ho Chi Minh City changes routes and ticket prices of 7 bus routes

On August 18, Pham Ngoc Dung, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management and Operation Center, said that the operation of 7 bus routes has been adjusted to make it more convenient for passengers. The changes include the operating unit, route and ticket price.

Specifically, routes 38, 62, 64, 139 are operated by Saigon Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company; route 4 is operated by Bao Yen Company Limited; routes 65 and 152 are operated by the joint venture of Bao Yen Company Limited - Cooperative 28. These routes operate 47-seat vehicles, with air conditioning, painted in uniform green. One-way ticket price is 6,000 VND; student ticket price is 3,000 VND. A set of 30 tickets costs 135,000 VND.

Route No. 4 (Ben Thanh - Cong Hoa - An Suong Bus Station) is 16.42km long, operating from 5:00 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. daily, with about 200 trips.

Route 38 (Tan Quy Residential Area - Ben Thanh - Dam Sen) is 16.57km long, with an average of 120 trips/day. Route 62 (District 8 Bus Station - Thoi An) is 24km long, with 120 trips/day. Route 64 (Mien Dong Bus Station - Dam Sen) is 18km long, with 120 trips/day. Route 65 (Ben Thanh - Cach Mang Thang Tam - An Suong Bus Station) operates at a similar frequency, with about 120 trips/day. All routes operate from 5am to 8:15pm daily.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has 164 bus routes, with more than 2,300 vehicles in operation. In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, buses transported 283 million passengers, an increase of 16.5% over the same period last year. The city aims to have 205 bus routes by 2030, opening priority lanes for buses, aiming for a smart, convenient and environmentally friendly public transport system.
