Socio -political organizations (Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Farmers' Association, Provincial Women's Union, etc.), departments, branches, armed forces, and local People's Committees all have appropriate forms of propaganda and education to raise awareness of environmental protection, disaster prevention and mitigation, climate change response, and water security in accordance with the practical conditions of the locality, agency, and unit. At educational institutions in the province, from 2023 to present, more than 200 extracurricular activities on environmental protection and disaster prevention have been organized for staff, teachers, and students.
Or in Co To special zone since 2022, the project "Co To island district has no plastic waste" has been implemented; since then, propaganda work has been carried out regularly and continuously, creating important changes in people's awareness and actions. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, zone 1, Co To special zone, said: Each of us not only mobilizes our neighbors, but also actively propagates to tourists not to bring disposable plastic products, nylon bags when traveling to Co To, in order to preserve the clean and beautiful marine environment.
The Youth Union and Women's Union have many propaganda models, mobilizing members to carry out practical work in environmental protection, such as: Sorting waste at source; clean houses and alleys; cleaning beaches; preventing and combating plastic waste... The Women's Union alone has had 19 emulation movements and 64 models on environmental protection.
Communication campaigns are deployed through grassroots propaganda systems, radio, television, print newspapers, electronic newspapers, social networks and national and international environmental holidays, such as Wetlands Day February 2, International Day for Biological Diversity May 25, World Environment Day June 5, etc., creating a clear ripple effect in the community. From 2023 to present, Quang Ninh Newspaper, Radio and Television alone have produced, broadcast, and posted more than 18,200 news, articles, photos, reports, and special topics on the infrastructure.
In implementing Decision No. 876/QD-TTg dated July 22, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the action program on green energy conversion, reducing carbon and methane emissions of the transport sector, the province has also promoted and encouraged organizations and individuals to convert motorbikes, motorbikes, cars, and transport infrastructure to use electricity and green energy; encouraged people to use public transport; promoted and disseminated to transport businesses to strengthen technical management of vehicles to meet environmental protection criteria.
Along with that, the province also propagates and mobilizes agencies and enterprises to switch to using energy-saving LED lights for lighting in buildings, construction works, and traffic routes. The whole province currently has 65,353 urban lighting systems, of which 46,548 are energy-saving systems.
In particular, 100% of households in the province have access to early warning information on natural disaster prevention and control, especially warnings about the impact of storms and heavy rains on areas in the province so that people can proactively respond.
Thanks to the promotion of information and propaganda work, it has helped change the attitude and awareness of environmental protection of cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and people in the whole province. Environmental quality is increasingly improved, contributing to building a green, safe and sustainable living environment for the present and future generations of the province.
