Ho Chi Minh City launches week for collecting household hazardous waste

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Minh Thanh has just signed a document conveying the opinion of the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on implementing the program "Week of household hazardous waste collection".

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the People's Committees at the commune level to proactively develop a plan and implement the program "Week of household hazardous waste collection" based on the funding source for implementing the Environmental Pollution Reduction Program for the period 2020-2030.

In particular, promote extensive propaganda to raise people's awareness, guide and help people form the habit of classifying and disposing of household hazardous waste in the right place. At the same time, continue to maintain and expand household hazardous waste collection points in wards and communes, increase the volume and composition of household hazardous waste classified, collected and treated in accordance with regulations.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City is assigned to monitor, urge and guide the People's Committees at the commune level to effectively carry out the above tasks. At the same time, research and propose solutions for implementation in communes, wards and special zones.
