According to local media, the incident occurred on October 17. Witnesses said the male tourist was the one who "initiated" it, when he used his hand to touch the face of a long-tailed monkey. In just a split second, the monkey suddenly counterattacked, kicking the tourist straight in the face.

Immediately after that, the management board of Thien Linh Mountain Park had to issue a warning that visitors should stay at least 3 meters away from wild animals here. "If violations occur and accidents occur, visitors must take responsibility," the management board emphasized.

Observer.com reported that statistics from 2020 recorded more than 13,000 incidents of monkeys injuring tourists at this scenic area.

To ensure safety, warning signs are placed throughout the Thien Linh Mountain Park. If monkeys approach visitors, on-site security staff will also remind visitors to keep a certain distance.

The park management has increased security patrols and installed additional warning signs.
