Implementing support to protect and promote the value of Bao Vinh ancient houses

VHO - On November 8, the Hue Garden House Management and Protection Board held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to restore and prevent degradation of ancient houses in Bao Vinh ancient town, Huong Vinh ward.

Ancient wooden houses in Bao Vinh ancient town (Huong Vinh ward, Hue city) will receive support for preservation.

Accordingly, the traditional house of Mrs. Pham Thi Dieu Lien's family, at 77B Bao Vinh, is the first project to be renovated and prevented from deterioration in the Project "Policy to support the protection and promotion of the value of Bao Vinh ancient traditional houses" (Huong Vinh ward, Hue city).

The house of Mrs. Pham Thi Dieu Lien's family was built in 1914 with the architectural style of a 2-storey house with 2 closed-gable compartments. After more than 110 years, many parts of the house such as the wooden frame, roof support system, tiled roof... have been degraded and severely damaged.

This is a project classified as a type 1 house in the Project. The People's Committee of Hue City has decided on the investment policy, assigning the Hue Garden House Management and Protection Board as the investor to support the restoration and renovation of the house with a budget of 1 billion VND.

The implementation of the project to restore and prevent deterioration of the communal house aims to preserve and maintain the typical values ​​of Bao Vinh ancient communal house. Thereby, contributing to promoting the effectiveness of economic exploitation in the old town.

At the same time, spread awareness of protecting ancient houses, create consensus and voluntary participation in the Project of garden house and stilt house owners in Hue, contributing to preserving and maintaining Hue's cultural identity.

Commencement of renovation and prevention of degradation of the ancient house of Mrs. Pham Thi Dieu Lien's family at 77B Bao Vinh

According to the plan, the project to restore and prevent deterioration of the traditional houses at 77B Bao Vinh will be completed within 150 days. It is expected that in the period of 2023 - 2026, 7 ancient traditional houses in Bao Vinh will be supported for restoration and preservation.

Since the end of 2022, the People's Council of Thua Thien Hue province has issued a Resolution stipulating a number of policies to support, protect and promote the value of typical garden houses and ancient houses in the province.

In particular, the funding for the restoration and renovation of typical garden houses and ancient houses is classified into 3 groups: type 1 houses have a maximum support of 1 billion VND/house; type 2 houses have a maximum support of 800 million VND/house; and type 3 houses have a maximum support of 600 million VND/house.
