In 2025, many literary and artistic creation camps will be held in Hai Phong , creating an environment to nurture inspiration, connect artists and create hundreds of new works. This is an effective way to improve the quality of creation, while affirming the position of the Port City's literature and art in the general flow of the whole country.

Special inspiration

The 2025 Literary and Artistic Creation Camp in Hai Phong, organized by the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations from June 20 to 26 in Do Son, gathered 28 artists from 5 provinces and cities: Hai Phong, Hai Duong (old), Quang Ninh, Hoa Binh and Lai Chau. During the camp, the artists went on field trips to the Vu Yen New Urban Area, the Bach Dang Giang Historical Relic Site and the Thanh Ha Lychee Specialized Growing Area. At the end of the camp, the Organizing Committee received 113 reports, including 78 literary works (4 short stories, 1 memoir, 73 poems), 8 musical works, 15 photographic works, 6 fine art works, 2 cinematographic works, 3 theatrical works and 1 folk art work.

Participating in the Writing Camp, poet Kim Chuong, a member of the Hai Phong Literature and Arts Association, expressed: “The writing camp opened by the Vietnam Literature and Arts Association in Do Son - the homeland of our artists - brings a special source of inspiration. For every writer, a view from the reality of life and contemporary society is always necessary, because writers must stick to the times they live in. Behind the everyday details, writers also want to send messages and profound thoughts to readers…”.

Musician Nguyen Manh Thang, a member of the Hai Phong Literature and Arts Association, shared his memorable experiences: “In the favorable conditions created by the Organizing Committee, the artists tried their best to compose. During the days at the composition camp in Do Son, I was inspired to write the song “Thao thuc bien Do Son”. I wanted to convey the message that the beauty of the coastal city of Do Son will last forever with time, with the locality and with the whole country.”

Then, from July 12 to 15, the Hai Phong Literature and Arts Association in collaboration with the Hai Duong Literature and Arts Association (before the merger) organized the Chi Linh - Do Son Fine Arts Creation Camp, with the participation of more than 20 artists. In a short time, the artists created more than 40 works using many materials, such as: oil paint, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, silk... depicting the landscape and people of Chi Linh and Do Son. The results of this creation camp were introduced at the art exhibition "Beautiful Homeland", making a strong impression on the public. This is also considered the "starting shot" signaling the connection of the artists of the two localities of Hai Phong - Hai Duong when they come under one roof after the merger.

Promote creative activities and promote works

If most of the artists affirm the inspiration and valuable experience from the creative camp, to spread and deepen the results, the role of organization and orientation belongs to the Hai Phong Literature and Arts Association. Not only creating conditions for members to participate in creative camps organized by the Vietnam Literature and Arts Association, the Association also proactively coordinates with units and localities to organize many creative camps in Hai Phong. This is a way to help artists stay close to real life, while effectively promoting the image of the land and people of Hai Phong.

The creative camps in 2025 show a new approach: linking artistic creation activities with the process of building and developing local culture. Through their works, artists not only reflect the breath of the times but also contribute to fostering pride and fostering the cultural identity of the Port City. Exhibitions and publications after the creative camps also become channels to bring works closer to the public, affirming the position of Hai Phong literature and art in the spiritual and social life.

Meritorious Artist Le Hai, Chairman of the Hai Phong Literature and Arts Association, shared: “The creative camps are a useful environment for artists to penetrate reality, nurture emotions and enrich their life experiences. The important thing is that from those experiences, the works are improved in quality, have ideological and artistic values, and meet the requirements of serving the public in the new period.”
