District medical center saves mother and child from ruptured uterus

On October 18, news from U Minh District Medical Center (Ca Mau) said that they had just intervened in time to save the life of a mother and child with a ruptured uterus.

Previously, at 11:30 p.m. on October 15, pregnant woman NTBL (34 years old, residing in Khanh Lam commune, U Minh district) was admitted to the U Minh district Medical Center with blood in her urine.

Through medical history, 3 days before being admitted to the hospital, the pregnant woman had lower abdominal pain and went for a pregnancy check-up at a hospital in the center of Ca Mau City. The doctor said the pregnant woman was fine and let her go home.

The team from U Minh District Medical Center performed surgery to save the life of a mother and child with a ruptured uterus.

U MINH DISTRICT MEDICAL CENTER PROVIDES

At U Minh District Medical Center, the doctor diagnosed the pregnant woman as 37 weeks pregnant, head down, latent labor, pain in the old surgical wound, and monitoring for uterine and bladder rupture. After that, the pregnant woman underwent emergency surgery at 0:35 on October 16. Currently, the pregnant woman has good contact, regular heartbeat, clear lungs, dry surgical wound; the baby boy is rosy, suckling well, and has a dry navel.

Dr. Tran Minh Tru, Deputy Director of U Minh District Medical Center, warned that uterine rupture is a serious obstetric complication that, if not detected and treated promptly, can threaten the lives of both mother and fetus. Therefore, pregnant women who have had a cesarean section need to be carefully evaluated, checked and monitored regularly at reputable specialized hospitals throughout their pregnancy to promptly detect and treat any abnormalities, if any.
