Thua Thien - Hue Xuong Tho Lang, the resting place of Queen Mother Tu Du - mother of King Tu Duc, will be restored at a cost of more than 6 billion VND.

Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, said that from mid-June, the mausoleum began to undergo a year-long restoration, including the system of the citadel, screens, and landscape lake.

The restoration costs were contributed by the Pham Dang family, the family of Lady Tu Du and a loyal minister of the Nguyen Dynasty. The family representative, Mrs. Pham Dang Tuy Hoa, also donated 49 ancient pine trees to plant around the mausoleum area.

Xuong Tho Tomb is located in the grounds of King Thieu Tri's tomb in Thuy Bang commune, Hue city, built in the early 20th century. Outside the tomb, there is a wall more than 3 meters high built of bricks with two layers, in front of which is a crescent lake.

After more than 100 years, the mausoleum's architecture is still quite intact, but many items have deteriorated. Many walls in front of the mausoleum and the crescent lake area have collapsed.
