Hanoi 10th grade English major got the benchmark score of 25.42, the highest at Foreign Language Specialized High School, average 6.4 points/subject.

On the evening of June 15, the Foreign Language High School, University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, announced the 10th grade benchmark scores of 7 specialized groups.

The admission score is the sum of the scores of the three exams Foreign Language, Mathematics and Natural Sciences , Literature and Social Sciences on a 10-point scale, in which Foreign Language is multiplied by a factor of two. The maximum score is 40.

For the specialized system, the benchmark scores for each class are relatively even, mostly at 24-25 points. The highest score for the English class is 25.42 points, the lowest score for the Korean class is 22.34 points. Overall, this year's benchmark score is slightly lower than last year's 25-26 points.

In addition, the school offers a scholarship score. Accordingly, the Chinese language class has the highest scholarship score - 31.85, applied to candidates taking the Chinese exam. German, Korean, French, and Japanese classes have a score above 30 for this category.

The benchmark scores for grade 10 of Foreign Language Specialized High School in 2023 are specifically as follows:

This year, the Foreign Language Specialized High School recruits 400 specialized students and 100 non-specialized students. The total number of applications received by the Foreign Language Specialized High School is more than 3,800, of which more than half are registered for English classes. With a target of 215 specialized students, the English class has a competition ratio of 1/9.7, meaning that for every 10 students taking the exam, one will be admitted.

The Russian class only accepts 15 students, while 319 students registered, so the competition ratio is the highest - 1/21.3. Next is the Korean class with a competition ratio of 1/10.2, Japanese and French both 1/9.2. The two classes with the lowest competition ratios are German and Chinese, 1/7.9 and 1/6.8 respectively.

Last year, the school entrance exam attracted nearly 4,000 candidates. The benchmark score ranged from 24 to 32.35, the highest being the scholarship system for the French specialized class, exam block D3 (exam in French).
