'Hot' private school in Hanoi announces admission for first grade

At the end of the first semester of this school year, some prestigious and attractive private schools in Hanoi such as: Marie Curie, Doan Thi Diem, Ngoi Sao, Vinschool... have announced their enrollment quotas and methods for the next school year.

On the first day of 2025, Marie Curie School (Hanoi) issued announcement No. 1 on enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year with a total of 3,160 students in the first grades at 4 campuses.

Of which, My Dinh (Nam Tu Liem District) and Kien Hung (Ha Dong District) each enroll 6 first grade classes with 180 students; Viet Hung (Long Bien District) enrolls 10 first grade classes with 300 students. For sixth grade, My Dinh, Van Phu (Ha Dong District) and Viet Hung all enroll 12 classes with 360 students.

For grade 10, My Dinh campus recruits 12 classes with 360 students, Van Phu campus recruits 14 classes with 420 students, Viet Hung campus recruits 18 classes with 540 students... Viet Hung is also the only campus of the school that recruits kindergarten children with 3 classes of 4-year-olds (60 children) and 2 classes of 5-year-olds (40 children).

This year, Marie Curie School continues to apply for online admission, with a limited registration period. Admission methods for kindergarten and grade 1 at all facilities are carried out in the form of a 1-day experience at school; admission for grade 6 is based on math and English proficiency tests; grade 10 will be based on the admission scores of the public high school grade 10 entrance exam organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khang, Chairman of the Marie Curie School Board, said that it is expected that in February there will be specific instructions for enrollment in kindergarten, grade 1, and grade 6; in April there will be instructions for enrollment in grade 10.

Multiple admission methods

Hanoi Star Primary and Secondary School announced the recruitment of 204 sixth grade students for the next school year and is accepting online applications. The admission method applies two forms: direct admission and competency assessment.

In particular, direct admission is considered for the following cases: students with gold medals, international cups, first prizes at city and national levels in math, science , English, arts and sports organized by prestigious units and based on achievements in grades 3, 4 and 5.

Admission through capacity assessment based on the results of the scholarship exam this school will hold in February.

Archimedes School Education System recruits 700 6th grade students for 2 campuses in Cau Giay District and Dong Anh District. Students must take a test in math, Vietnamese and English in multiple choice and essay format. Each subject takes 60 - 90 minutes to complete. The admission score is the sum of 3 subjects, in which math and English are multiplied by a factor of 2. The school also requires the following conditions for students to register for admission: ability and qualities in grades 3, 4 and 5 must be at a good level of completion.

A representative of Doan Thi Diem Secondary and High School (Hanoi) said that next school year the school is expected to enroll 900 sixth graders by reviewing records, transcripts and testing their abilities. Students who qualify through the transcript round will be tested in math, Vietnamese and foreign languages.

FPT High School also announced three methods of admission for grade 10 next school year, including considering transcripts, achievements, and using Hanoi grade 10 exam scores.

If using transcripts, candidates must achieve an average score of 3 semesters (including 8th grade and 9th grade semester 1) of 3 subjects: math, literature, and foreign language from 61/90 points or higher.

In terms of achievement, candidates must have achieved 3.5 years of excellent secondary school students or have won national prizes in 9th grade in arts, sports, science and technology. The common condition for all 3 methods is that the conduct of secondary school must be at least good.

Vinschool accepts applications from students who have achieved good training results and good or better academic performance in all 4 years of secondary school. After that, they take the school's entrance exam. For the standard system, candidates take math, literature, English and logical thinking tests; for the advanced system, candidates take literature, English, science and math in English. The final round is an interview with the teacher.
