On August 16, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province said that there had been a conclusion of violations at Dak Lak Pedagogical College due to recruiting more than the quota, causing nearly 100 students to not have a diploma and a number of other violations.

Nearly 100 students graduated without a degree

According to the inspection conclusion, Dak Lak Pedagogical College has many violations in enrollment and training of the work-study system at this unit.

The school has exceeded its enrollment target by 100 for the college-level preschool education program (linked from intermediate preschool teacher training) - part-time study system in the two school years 2021 - 2022 and 2022 - 2023.

Due to exceeding enrollment targets, up to now, 52 students who took the graduation exam in June 2023 have not yet been awarded their diplomas, affecting the rights of the students.

In addition, in the two school years 2021 - 2022 and 2022 - 2023, Dak Lak Pedagogical College enrolled students in a teacher upgrading class without meeting the prescribed requirements, resulting in 47 students taking the graduation exam in April 2023 but not being awarded a degree.

Thus, a total of 99 students have taken the graduation exam but have not yet received a diploma from the school.

Lending and assigning public assets in accordance with regulations

Also according to the inspection conclusion of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, there are currently many public assets of the Pedagogical College of this province that are being rented, borrowed, and contracted out in violation of regulations and are slow to be remedied.

Up to now, the school has not yet recovered two dormitories that the school rented to two staff members without paying rent for several years.

It is worth mentioning that there are two plots of land with a total area of ​​over 67,000 square ^{meters that} were previously lent to 22 households to grow vegetables and contracted to grow coffee, which is not in accordance with regulations. The Department requested the school to reclaim and return the land to its original state as public land.

The Dak Lak Department of Education and Training has requested Dak Lak Pedagogical College to review the entire admission, training, exam organization and related processes; promptly correct errors, and specifically report on existing problems and limitations that have not been overcome.

In addition, the collective and leadership of Dak Lak Pedagogical College must seriously review and learn from experience; propose solutions to promptly and thoroughly resolve violations, ensure learners' rights and report to the Department of Education and Training before September 30.

The school must also strengthen inspection of management, organization of professional activities, enrollment, training, finance, issuance of certificates... of the school to promptly correct violations.

Former principal sentenced to prison for using public money to buy Tet gifts

Previously, in December 2023, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoa - principal and Mr. Tran Van Khuong - chief accountant of Dak Lak Pedagogical College - committed serious violations, each was sentenced to 3 years in prison with a suspended sentence for using public funds to buy Tet gifts for leaders on the occasion of Lunar New Year in 2019 and 2020 and a number of other charges.

In October 2020, to prepare for the financial handover before Mr. Hoa retired, Mr. Khuong created 20 fake documents with a total amount of more than 1.85 billion VND. In which, the authorities determined that these two people caused damage to state assets of more than 1.19 billion VND.

In December 2020, before the case was prosecuted, Mr. Khuong and Mr. Hoa paid more than 1.85 billion VND to the school fund to remedy the consequences.
