Thereby, not only preserving the cultural beauty of the origin passed down for generations, creating a space for exchange and community connection, but also contributing to promoting activities to introduce, promote and stimulate local tourism .

Preserving the beauty of cultural origins

Every time Tet comes, tourists from all over the world are excited to come to Quang Ninh - a place with hundreds of historical and cultural relics and large, unique festivals rich in national cultural identity. During the past 9 days of Tet, the weather in the province was quite nice, creating favorable conditions for people and tourists to enjoy spring.

Notably, the Yen Tu National Special Relic Site during the Lunar New Year holidays welcomed nearly 77,000 visitors, including many international visitors from Korea, India, the US, Europe... The number of visitors increased by 40-50% compared to normal days and is expected to continue to increase during the festival lasting for 3 months in spring. Many spring programs celebrating Tet imbued with traditional national culture were held during the Lunar New Year in Yen Tu with folk games; traditional art performances, national musical instruments; dragon and lion dances; culinary and cultural experiences of the Dao Thanh Y ethnic community at the foot of Yen Tu mountain...

Mr. Pham Xuan Truong (a tourist from Hanoi) shared: Every Tet holiday, my family and I return to Yen Tu to pray for peace and health in the new year. Coming to the sacred mountain, the land of Buddha, we feel the harmony of heaven and earth in spring, all things are still, making people feel extremely peaceful. It must be affirmed that the management and organization of the festival here is very good, the landscape is clean, security and order are ensured, so each resident and tourist is also conscious of being civilized and polite when going to the festival.

Opening the series of spring festivals in Quang Ninh, from January 5-7, at the national historical and cultural relic Tien Cong Temple, Cam La Commune (Quang Yen Town), the Tien Cong Festival 2025 took place. This is the largest and most unique spring festival in the Ha Nam island region, preserved and promoted by the people for more than 300 years.

The festival is held to commemorate the ancestors who reclaimed the land and established the prosperous Ha Nam island region as it is today, and is also an occasion for descendants to celebrate longevity, show filial piety to grandparents, parents, and show gratitude to ancestors. During the 3 days of the Tien Cong Festival, many cultural, sports and folk games took place, bustling and joyful, such as: human chess, to tom diem, swing playing, dum giao duyen singing, tug of war... Among them, the most special is the ceremony of carrying the Elder Thuong in a palanquin to the Tien Cong temple, which takes place on the main festival day, January 7th.   expressing admiration and honor for the pioneers, imbued with the cultural identity of the residents of Bach Dang estuary.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Can (Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City) said: Born and raised in the Ha Nam island region, I am always proud of the cultural and historical traditions of my homeland. This year, my family also held a longevity ceremony for my father, so since the days of Tet, children and grandchildren from all over have returned to gather together to prepare for the longevity celebration for their father, participating in the Tien Cong festival. This is truly a beautiful, precious cultural tradition that we want to educate our children and grandchildren forever.

Along with the Tien Cong Festival, many traditional festivals in localities in the province were also held, such as: Yen Tu Spring Festival (Uong Bi City), Ngoa Van Spring Festival (Dong Trieu City); Cap Tien Temple Festival (Cam Pha City), Lang Da Communal House Festival (Ba Che District); Dong Dinh Festival (Tien Yen District)...

Festivals not only meet the needs of community cultural activities and spiritual activities of the people with the wish for a peaceful new year, favorable weather, national peace and prosperity, but also are activities expressing respect and gratitude for the great contributions of national heroes and those who have contributed to the country. Thereby, contributing to preserving historical values, cultural beauty of the origin, at the same time reminding and educating the tradition of patriotism and national pride for today's and future generations.

Promote the development of spiritual tourism

Throughout the province, there are traditional festivals that have been preserved and promoted by the people for many generations. Festivals are like a treasure trove of precious cultural heritage of the nation. In line with the flow of modern society, festivals are increasingly upgraded in both scale and form, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate. There are many traditional festivals of Quang Ninh that have affirmed their value and stature when going beyond the boundaries of villages and communes, becoming national intangible cultural heritages, such as: Cua Ong Temple Festival, Tien Cong Festival, Tra Co Communal House Festival, Quan Lan Communal House Festival, Bach Dang Festival, Dam Ha Communal House Festival, Van Ninh Communal House Festival, and Xuong Dong Festival.

According to information from the Department of Tourism, in 9 days (from January 25 to February 2, or from December 26 of the lunar calendar to the end of the 5th day of Tet), Quang Ninh welcomed nearly 970,000 tourists. In particular, the province's spiritual and cultural destinations continued to be the focus of attracting tourists, the number of visitors to these places increased 6-8 times compared to normal days. Specifically, Cua Ong Temple (Cam Pha City) reached over 90,000 visitors, Cai Bau Pagoda (Van Don District) reached about 130,000 visitors, Yen Tu Special National Relic Site (Uong Bi City) reached nearly 77,000 visitors, Tran Dynasty Relic Site (Dong Trieu City) reached 59,000 visitors...

This result also shows the efforts of the provincial departments, branches and localities in investing in the restoration and embellishment of relic sites and scenic spots, making them more and more spacious, with the campus expanded and decorated with many flowers, trees and beautiful miniature landscapes to meet the needs of sightseeing, resting and relaxing for tourists. At the same time, localities have also proactively deployed and well implemented the management and organization of spring festival activities in a cost-effective and efficient manner, in accordance with cultural traditions, customs and practices.

Along with that, encourage people to participate in preserving and promoting the cultural values ​​of relics and festivals through performing arts, folk games, introducing culture, cuisine... to turn the festival into a unique and special tourism product, a spring cultural rendezvous for tourists from all over the world. Thereby, contributing to the successful implementation of the goal of the Quang Ninh tourism industry to welcome 20 million visitors a year, including 4.5 million international visitors, achieving tourism revenue of about 50,000 billion VND.
