Laos is considering adding Vietnamese as an optional foreign language in the national high school graduation exam.

In addition, the contents of the History of the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Special Relations will be included in the curriculum at educational institutions of the two countries to contribute to promoting and educating the young generation about the tradition of the two countries' special relations.

Currently, the total number of Lao students studying in Vietnam is about more than 14,000 people. In 2023, Vietnam will grant more than 1,000 scholarships to Lao students from high school to postgraduate level, of which the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training will provide 464 scholarships.
