While waiting for FIFA's decision, the Malaysian team is still training normally to prepare for two matches with Laos in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Before the matches with Laos, Malaysia had a change in personnel.

Accordingly, two goalkeepers Haziq Nadzli and Azri Ghani both withdrew from the national team due to health problems right after the team moved to Laos. In that situation, coach Peter Cklamovski was forced to call up two less famous goalkeepers, Sikh Izhan Nazrel Sikh Azman (Club Selangor) and Suhaimi Hussin (Club Terengganu) to replace them.
The number one goalkeeper for Malaysia in the upcoming two matches against Laos is Syihan Hazmi. The goalkeeper born in 1996 is currently playing for Malaysia's number one club, Johor Darul Ta'zim (but is mainly a reserve).
The entire Malaysian team will leave for Laos today, to prepare for two matches against the host team on October 9 in Vientiane. Malaysia will then play Laos again at home at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on October 14.

To prepare for the two matches with Laos, coach Peter Cklamovski has called up 29 players, including 14 naturalized players: Corbin-Ong (Canada), Daniel Ting (England), Declan Lambert (Australia), Dion Cools (Belgium), Junior Eldstal (Sweden), Richard Chin (England), Quentin Cheng (Australia), Endrick (Brazil), Nooa Laine (Finland), Sergio Aguero (Argentina), Stuart Wilkin (England), Jordan Mintah (Ghana), Paulo Jose (Brazil) and Romel Morales (Colombia).
However, among these, only 2 players play abroad: Dion Cools (Cerezo Osaka, Japan), Richard Chin (Raith Rovers, Scotland).
Seven players banned from football activities by FIFA, Facundo Garces, Imanol Machuca, Hector Hevel, Gabriel Palmero, Rodrigo Holgado, Joao Figueiredo and Jon Irazabal, were not present.
Notably, coach Peter Cklamovski has added a brand new naturalized striker, Jordan Mintah (of Ghanaian origin). This player is playing for Kuching City FC and was naturalized as a Malaysian last August.
Today (October 6) is the deadline for FAM to submit an appeal to FIFA. Previously, the world's top football body accused FAM of falsifying the records of 7 naturalized players. Therefore, FAM is anxiously awaiting the verdict on their fate. If the appeal fails, they will likely appeal to a higher level, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
