On October 21, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) issued a document requesting the 3rd training session of the Vietnam women's national team in 2025 for the coach and players of the Ho Chi Minh City women's club, the team that just won the national championship for the 7th consecutive time.
Accordingly, coach Doan Thi Kim Chi, goalkeeper coach Nguyen Thi Kim Hong and 5 players including goalkeeper Quach Thu Em, center back Chuong Thi Kieu, Tran Thi Thu Thao, Cu Thi Huynh Nhu and striker Huynh Nhu were selected.
The above seven members of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club will join the Vietnam women's team from November 20 to December 18.
November 20 is also the time when the Vietnamese women's team will depart for Japan for training to complete the squad before attending the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand in early December. Here, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team are expected to have 3 friendly matches with Japanese women's club teams.

After the training trip to Japan, the Vietnamese women's team will return to Ho Chi Minh City to get used to the weather conditions which are similar to Thailand, before moving to Chonburi to participate in the 33rd SEA Games.
Previously, on October 17, coach Mai Duc Chung announced the list of 26 players for the Vietnamese women's team to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
Among them, there are no 5 players and 2 coaches of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club because they are busy focusing on the group stage of the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Women's in November at Thong Nhat Stadium.
The Vietnamese women's team is the current SEA Games champion. At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's team is in a "tough" group B with two championship candidates: the Philippines, Myanmar and Malaysia.
Despite the difficulties, the goal of the Vietnamese women's team is still to successfully defend the championship.
