After carrying out the necessary procedures, the authorities handed over the abandoned baby boy to his mother.
After completing the necessary procedures, the authorities handed over the boy to the mother.

According to the leader of Nha Trang Ward Police, before handing over, the authorities worked with Ms. Q. to verify the reason for the child's abandonment and checked relevant documents to determine the mother-child relationship. It is known that due to the need to go to Japan for business, Ms. Q. brought her son, Le Tan S. (born in 2021), to Nha Trang Ward to leave him with relatives for about 2 months. However, relatives refused to adopt him because they were taking care of 2 other children. Frustrated, on the afternoon of October 19, Ms. Q. booked a taxi through the Xanh SM app to take S. from Le Dai Hanh Street to a hotel on Tran Phu Street (Nha Trang Ward). When arriving at the drop-off point, no one picked up the child, while Ms. Q. turned off her phone and could not be contacted.

Checking the luggage, the driver discovered the child's identification papers, identifying Le Tan S. (born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, hometown Hai Chau, Da Nang), whose parents are Mr. LTH and Mrs. PTHQ, both Vietnamese nationals, residing in Kanagawa. Suspecting unusual signs, the driver quickly reported to Nha Trang Ward Police. Immediately after receiving the child, the Ward Police made a record and coordinated with the Department of Culture and Social Affairs to handle the case. Child S. was transferred to the Khanh Hoa Province Social Protection and Social Work Center for temporary care.

On October 21, Nha Trang Ward Police contacted Ms. Q. and her family and persuaded them to take back their child. At the meeting, Ms. Q. pledged not to repeat the act of abandoning S.

According to the leader of Nha Trang Ward Police, the incident warns about the responsibility of parents in taking care of their children, and at the same time acknowledges the timely coordination of the authorities and taxi drivers, helping S. to soon be reunited with her family.
