Tra Vinh University (TVU) held the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year. The ceremony, combined with live television, celebrated the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education - the predecessor of the Ministry of Education and Training. The event had a special meaning when the whole school performed the flag-raising ceremony, sang the national anthem, listened to the speech and welcomed the drumbeat to start the new school year from General Secretary To Lam.

A large number of delegates attended the opening ceremony, combined with a live broadcast of the 80th anniversary celebration of the education sector.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa - TVU Principal said that as of August 2025, TVU has a total of 27 training programs that have achieved international accreditation, including: FIBAA (Europe), AUN-QA (Southeast Asia) and ABET (USA), contributing to putting TVU in the group of universities in the Mekong Delta with many programs that have achieved international education quality accreditation.

In addition, for many consecutive years, TVU has been in the Top 200 universities with green educational environments and sustainable development according to UI GreenMetric Ranking; 3 consecutive years (2022, 2023, 2024) receiving the excellent digital transformation award; 6 consecutive years of promotion in the Top 100 innovative and influential schools, contributing to society. Notably, in 2025, TVU ranked 29th in the Top 400 schools, up 13 places compared to 2024.

“Over the years, the school is proud to have a team of lecturers that has grown in both quantity and quality, many of whom have achieved the titles of Professor, Associate Professor, Doctorate and have studied abroad to serve their homeland with love for their profession, love for their students, and responsibility to the community.

This is an important milestone, not only affirming the school's international reputation but also bringing practical benefits to students such as: widely recognized degrees, increased opportunities to participate in international study and internship exchanges, and especially creating a competitive advantage when they enter the global labor market," the TVU President reviewed the achievements.

On the occasion of the opening of the new school year, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa expressed his deep gratitude to the leaders of ministries, central and local branches, organizations, businesses, overseas Vietnamese and international partners who have always accompanied the development of TVU. In particular, the principal expressed his respect to the staff, lecturers and workers who have devoted themselves to the cause of education, and thanked the parents who trusted and sent their children to TVU, and thanked the students who chose TVU to continue their journey of knowledge.

For the new students, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa congratulated them on officially becoming members of TVU. On this occasion, TVU awarded prizes and scholarships to the Valedictorian Tran Quoc Cuong, majoring in Sports Management (student of Vu Dinh Lieu High School, with 27.75 points); the runners-up: Ho Dac Thinh, majoring in Law (student of Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted, with 26.5 points), Thai Ngoc Tuyen, majoring in Social Work (student of Pham Thai Buong High School, with 26.5 points).

At the same time, commend and reward 1 individual and 1 collective who won second prize at the "Unesco Water Challenge For Young Innovators 2025" contest organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in collaboration with the Institute of Data and Digital Economy.

Two students of the 2022 Natural Resources and Environment Management class won third prize in the "From Waste to Wetlands" competition organized by the Recycled Island Foundation - Clear Rivers of the Netherlands, and a group of interdisciplinary students from TVU won first prize at the GVB Prize 2025 startup competition in London, UK, with the theme "Green transformation and digital transformation".
