Prioritize site clearance for the Lai Xuan Bridge and Provincial Road 352 construction investment project, Thuy Nguyen district.

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of December 15, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho inspected the progress of the Lai Xuan Bridge Construction Investment Project and the renovation and expansion of Provincial Road 352 in Thuy Nguyen District. This is one of the important traffic projects to realize the city's inter-regional connectivity goal.

According to the report of the Project Management Board, the biggest problem of the Project is that some land in many items has not been handed over yet. Regarding the bridge section , the unhanded over land area on the Hai Phong city side is mainly related to the land of Xuan Nguyen Prison (construction site for 4 pillars and abutments ); on the Quang Ninh province side, the entire construction site for 6 pillars and abutments in Yen Duc commune, Dong Trieu town is still stuck (3 months behind schedule).

Regarding the land acquisition work to renovate and expand provincial road 352, Thuy Nguyen district is currently carrying out land acquisition procedures. Regarding the construction progress, due to lack of land, only 6/16 piers have been constructed on the bridge section. Up to now, the Contractors have completed 77/130 bored piles, and are constructing at 6/16 pier locations, cantilever beams and super T beams. The estimated volume of implementation is about 150/518.8 billion VND (~29% of the contract); the package to renovate and upgrade provincial road 352 has reached more than 11% of the volume.

After checking and listening to the report, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho requested the Project Management Board to first focus on site clearance work, continue to closely coordinate with Quang Ninh province, ensure that the site is available for construction in January 2024. Assign Thuy Nguyen district and related units to urgently resolve the problems in site clearance of security land, defense land, and enterprises, and hand over to the contractor soon.

Lai Xuan bridge project is being actively constructed by contractors.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho also requested the Project Management Board to prioritize funding for site clearance work; contractors to focus on human resources to complete the road section before May 13, 2024; and bridges and culverts on the route to be completed in August 2024. Along with that, closely monitor and manage the volume and quality of the project; strictly implement measures to ensure traffic safety and environmental sanitation during the project construction./.
