VieON, FPT Play remove Trieu Lo Tu's movies

The movie Let Me Shine was discovered to have displayed the illegal nine-dash line on the evening of October 2. On the morning of October 3, OTT platforms simultaneously removed the content from their applications.

The movie Love's Ambition (English: Love's Ambition ) that has recently attracted attention has been removed by a series of platforms because it contains inappropriate images. Previously, the movie was shown simultaneously on OTT platforms such as TV360,FPT Play, K+, VieOn.

Specifically, users reported that episode 16 of the film featured details of the illegal nine-dash line, violating Vietnam's territorial sovereignty , appearing with the male lead character played by Tran Vy Dinh. Receiving much attention due to the appearance of Trieu Lo Tu and the chemistry between the main couple, netizens boycotted the film after realizing the illegal image.

After the information appeared on social networks on the night of October 2, many large fanpages specializing in updating news about Chinese movies and showbiz announced that they would stop sharing related to the movie. By the morning of October 3, the movie distributors also simultaneously removed and deleted the movie from the entire system.

At the time the sensitive image was discovered, the film was only at episode 15 on official websites in Vietnam. FPT Play said it had only received the copyright from the supplier on the morning of October 3 and after discovering the image of the cow tongue line during the censorship process, it immediately destroyed all 15 previous episodes.

“We always put the responsibility of complying with Vietnamese law and respecting national sovereignty first,” the platform said. According to the record, the film is no longer available on platforms such as Vieon and TV360. Currently, the content is only available on the WeTV application, one of the multinational distribution units.

The film created a “fever” on the streaming platform in China, when it was suddenly released on September 26 without any large-scale promotional campaign. In Vietnam, the content also received attention from domestic audiences who love Chinese cinema. Trieu Lo Tu and Tran Vi Dinh are also famous actors.

However, the online community is outraged by the situation of Chinese films repeatedly incorporating images of maps with the nine-dash line. Previously, works such as Going With the Wind, Love 199 - Wanting to Love Forever, In the Name of Family ... also encountered similar problems and were all removed from OTT platforms in Vietnam.
