Viet Huong was 'shocked with joy' when she got to play the role of a rich woman.

Previously, she only played miserable roles, now she gets to play a rich woman, sitting on a 3 billion VND prop chair, Viet Huong said "there has never been a project that has made me as happy and shocked as this movie".

Taking on the supporting role in the film Tra by director Le Hoang, Viet Huong attracted attention after many years of returning to cinema. In the film, she plays a wealthy woman whose husband is having an affair (the husband's role is played by Meritorious Artist Truong Minh Quoc Thai).

Viet Huong said that when Le Hoang invited her to act in a movie, she immediately agreed because she always considered this director a genius of Vietnamese cinema. The director made an appointment to meet her to give her the script and made her read it right in front of him for several hours, not allowing her to take it home to read later.

Reading the script, Viet Huong found the character very interesting and wanted to play a role she had never tried before. “In previous films, I often controlled and guided others. But with this role, I was psychologically arranged by the other characters. I acted according to them, not knowing how people would treat me,” she shared.

The female artist jokingly said that this was the "happiest" role in her career: "Up until now, I've only played miserable, fateful roles. There has never been a project that has made me as happy and moved as this movie."

The film's setting is the large villa of a businessman in Ho Chi Minh City, a close friend of director Le Hoang. According to Viet Huong, the items in the house are all worth billions, so she got to experience the life of a rich woman. "After discovering the chair worth 3 billion, the carpet worth 1 billion... I didn't dare sit or step on the carpet," Viet Huong joked.

Director Le Hoang admitted that there was pressure when returning to a film project but did not want to complain too much. Regarding the reason for not making films in recent years, he said it was because "if I do so poorly, no one will hire me, there is no need to beat around the bush."

In the movie Tra , Le Hoang chose a brand new actress for the female lead role. He said he did not want to choose famous stars like Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, Kaity Nguyen, Nha Phuong or Miu Le... because they were not suitable.

"I don't see any stars that are suitable for my film. When choosing actors, I choose for the film, not to please public opinion. Choosing a new actor to play the lead is risky, but I have done it many times. During the process, I have had failures and successes. Whether this time is successful or not depends on the audience," Le Hoang said.

The movie Tra will premiere on February 10 (the first day of Lunar New Year), competing with the movies Mai (Tran Thanh), Meeting the Boss (Doan Nhat Trung) and Bright Lights (Hoang Tuan Cuong).
