Vietnam needs about 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030.

On August 2, the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Resource Development Alliance (SEVINA) was launched in Ho Chi Minh City. The alliance brings together hundreds of member enterprises and domestic and foreign experts.

The alliance's goal is to solve the human resource problem for the semiconductor industry, while supporting training, research and consulting on infrastructure development for this industry.

Here, the representative of the Ministry of Planning and Investment said that by 2030, Vietnam will need about 50,000 semiconductor engineers. However, the gap in quality between supply and demand is still a big challenge.

According to Mr. Truong Gia Bao, Chairman of the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Resource Development Alliance, Vietnam is facing a shortage of high-quality human resources. This is no longer a story of just businesses but a problem of the entire ecosystem of the Vietnamese semiconductor industry.

To provide human resources for the semiconductor industry, the alliance aims to develop at least 10,000 high-quality human resources in the next 5 years. In addition, the alliance will also support the promotion of startups in the semiconductor supply chain, connect training and technology transfer, promote investment and propose policies to support the development of this industry.
