Vietcombank increases credit scale for forestry and aquatic products to 3,000 billion VND

Vietcombank continues to implement the credit program for the forestry and fishery sectors with a scale doubled, reaching 3,000 billion VND.

Implementing the Prime Minister 's direction and the State Bank's guidance on implementing the credit program for the forestry and fishery sectors, in recent times, Vietcombank has actively communicated and implemented the credit program for the forestry and fishery sectors for customers across the Vietcombank system. Accordingly, as of February 2024, Vietcombank has exceeded the disbursement scale of the program.

Responding to the program implementation, Vietcombank continues to announce the implementation of a credit program for the forestry and fishery sectors with a scale doubled, reaching 3,000 billion VND.

Borrowers are legal entities and individuals with projects/plans serving production and business activities in the forestry sector (forestry and related service activities, purchasing, consuming, exporting, processing, preserving forest products) and aquaculture (exploitation, farming, purchasing, consuming, exporting, processing, preserving aquatic products).

As a leading commercial bank in Vietnam that always proactively implements the Government 's and the State Bank's management policies, Vietcombank commits to continue to deploy credit programs for the forestry and fishery sectors openly, transparently, promptly, to the right subjects and for the right purposes for customers who meet the program's conditions for the purpose of supporting people and businesses.

Especially for customers in the forestry and fishery sectors, support customers to overcome difficulties, stabilize and maintain production and business activities, contribute to removing difficulties, support production and business and promote growth drivers of the economy.

Previously, the State Bank's Standing Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu said that the VND15,000 billion loan program for the forestry and fishery sectors had disbursed 100% of the program's target to over 6,000 borrowers in less than a year. The State Bank continued to direct commercial banks to supplement this package with another VND15,000 billion, bringing the total to VND30,000 billion to support the production, processing and export of forestry and fishery products.

Agribank has also just announced to continue implementing a preferential credit program for the forestry and fishery sectors with a scale of 8,000 billion VND. The preferential interest rate of the program is at least 1%-2% lower per year than the average lending interest rate of the same term of Agribank in each period./.
