Vinamilk won 2 categories at the community awards

The company won the "Human Act Prize" for the Net Zero 2050 program, and was also honored as a "Sustainable Project" with the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund.

At the "Human Act Prize" award ceremony held on the evening of December 11 in Hanoi, Vinamilk was named twice. In particular, the Vinamilk Pathways to Dairy Net Zero 2050 action program won the largest and most important category, the "Human Act Prize".

Vinamilk representative shared that this is a recognition of the company's initiatives and efforts in sustainable strategy, minimizing the impact of climate change.

Vietnam is the sixth country in the world to be affected by climate change. Per capita greenhouse gas emissions in Vietnam have also increased fourfold this century and maintained the fastest rate in the world . In this context, Vinamilk understands that sustainable development is the core to improve the quality of life and health of Vietnamese people and preserve valuable resources for future generations.

"Enterprises always strive to find solutions to minimize negative impacts on the environment and effectively use resources and energy in operations and production," said a business representative.

With the Vinamilk Pathways to Dairy Net Zero 2050 program, the enterprise affirms its spirit of accompanying the Government in implementing the Net Zero 2050 commitment and the "National Strategy on Climate Change for the period up to 2050".

Vinamilk is the first dairy company in Vietnam to have a factory and farm that is carbon neutral according to PAS2060:2014 standards thanks to its efforts to reduce emissions in production, livestock farming and maintain a green tree fund to absorb greenhouse gases over the years.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tam - Director of Vinamilk Hanoi Branch said that the greatest success of the enterprise is to convey the message and spirit of efforts to reduce and combat the effects of climate change to the community.

Awarding the prize for the category "Sustainable Project" to the Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund Project, the Organizing Committee assessed this as the largest and most sustainable program for children in Vietnam. Over the past 16 years, the trips of the Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund have traveled to the northernmost point of the country - Ha Giang to the southernmost point of Ca Mau to bring glasses of milk to children in difficult circumstances.

"The innocent smiles of the children when drinking milk are a great happiness and motivation for Vinamilk to firmly move forward on its dedicated and humane journey," Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tam shared.

The Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund has brought more than 42 million glasses of nutritious milk to half a million disadvantaged and underprivileged children in 63 provinces and cities across the country. The total value of support is equivalent to 200 billion VND.

The "Human Act Prize" is organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper, with the participation of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Ministry of Science and Technology to honor individuals and organizations that have made positive contributions to society through prestigious community initiatives and projects that bring long-term and sustainable results. This year's award lasted 4 months, attracting more than 130 projects and programs to participate.
