The 100m long landslide dike is highly dangerous and directly threatens people's lives and production.
According to records, the prolonged heavy rains over the past few days, high tides combined with the continuous impact of strong currents have caused a serious landslide in the dike. Currently, a 40m long section of the dike has been completely lost, including the 4m wide dike and the 3m wide reinforced concrete road on the dike. The landslide damaged 0.3ha of aquaculture area, with about 200,000 whiteleg shrimp and 30,000 tilapia from 40 to 50 days old. At the same time, traffic in the area was blocked and faced many difficulties.

If not promptly repaired, the risk of further dike breakage may occur, affecting 81 hectares of agricultural land (33 hectares of sugarcane, 23 hectares of aquaculture, 25 hectares of perennial trees) and 32 houses with 128 people living there, and local traffic may be completely cut off.
Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province assigned the People's Committee of Luu Nghiep Anh commune to urgently put up warning signs in the landslide area; widely inform people to proactively prevent in daily life and production. At the same time, arrange forces to be on duty to monitor developments, prepare materials and means to respond promptly, ensuring safety of life and property. Households in dangerous areas were also mobilized to evacuate to a safe place.
The Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with localities to closely monitor the situation, synthesize damage reports, and at the same time survey, evaluate and deploy engineering and non-engineering solutions to prevent landslides, ensure production safety and people's lives.
