The coffee garden was about to be harvested when it was vandalized, causing damage to a household.

On November 8, Dak Djrang Commune Police, Mang Yang District, Gia Lai Province, said they were verifying the destruction of Ms. Vu Thi Xuan's coffee garden in De Ron Village, Dak Djrang Commune.

Talking to reporters, Ms. Xuan said that her family has planted 400 coffee trees since 2007, the garden is about 1km from her house. Currently, the coffee garden is ripe and ready to be harvested.

The coffee branches of Mrs. Vu Thi Xuan's family, full of fruit and ready for harvest , were chopped down by thieves.

On the morning of November 7, when visiting the garden, Ms. Xuan was shocked to discover that her coffee garden had been completely destroyed. After counting, Ms. Xuan discovered that 23 trees had their tops cut off, branches chopped off, and even their trunks cut off. Notably, the 23 coffee trees were only cut down, but no fruit was taken.

Ms. Xuan said that she has grown coffee here for many years without any conflicts with anyone. Currently, each tree is estimated to yield 17-25kg/tree, the current price of fresh coffee is over 20,000 VND/kg, causing her family to suffer heavy losses. In particular, the coffee that has been destroyed will not be able to recover, forcing her to plant new trees to replace it. "I hope the police will soon find the culprit and strictly handle the subject so that our people can feel secure in doing business," Ms. Xuan said indignantly.

The strange thing is that the coffee branches are only cut and broken but the fruit is not taken.

Mr. Ho Ngoc Thang, Vice Chairman of Dak Djrang Commune People's Committee, said that after receiving reports from local residents about the coffee garden being vandalized, the Commune People's Committee sent police forces to the scene to inspect and verify the incident. According to Mr. Thang, the cause of this incident was due to personal conflicts. Currently, the commune has reported to the district police to investigate the incident and handle it according to the law.
