VIETNAM vs CHINESE TAIPEI | 2023 AVC Challenge Cup Women's Volleyball Tournament

Round 1: Vietnam won 25-20 Chinese Taipei

With early mental preparation, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had a pretty good start, leading 2-0. However, Chinese Taipei quickly leveled the score 2-2. After that, a dramatic and breathtaking tug-of-war broke out.

The game began to turn around when Vietnam took the lead 12-11 and then created a 2-point gap 15-13. The gap continued to widen until the match ended with a score of 25-20 in favor of the Vietnamese team. The winner was captain Thanh Thuy with a tricky drop shot.

Round 2: Vietnam won 25-17 Chinese Taipei

After conceding the first half goal, Chinese Taipei returned to the field in a relaxed mood and had no intention of going all out to make a comeback against Vietnam. Perhaps, Chinese Taipei is trying to save their energy for tomorrow's semi-final instead of a decisive match with Vietnam. If they are lucky enough to win, they will face Australia or the Philippines, but if they lose, Vietnam will face Indonesia.

Therefore, set 2 ended with a quick score of 25-17 for the Vietnamese girls.

Game 3: Vietnam wins 25-19 Chinese Taipei

No longer under pressure like in previous meetings and with 2 wins in hand, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team entered the field with a relaxed mentality, no longer too tense but still maintaining a high level of concentration.

A one-sided situation was quickly created by Vietnam with a gap of 14-5. On the other side of the battle line, although they had already determined to lose, Chinese Taipei tried to keep up the fight so as not to lose shamefully. In the end, Vietnam won 25-19 in the third set.

With this result, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will enter the semi-finals of the 2023 Asian Challenger Cup tonight (June 24) with an undefeated record. The opponent of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is India, the match starts at 7:00 p.m.

After the 32nd SEA Games, the continental and world level volleyball tournaments are active. For the continental region, the nearest tournament is the 2023 Asian Women's Challenger Cup (Asian Women's Challenge Cup).

The 2023 Asian Challenger Cup will take place in Indonesia from June 18 to June 25, bringing together 12 national teams from Asia, including 3 teams from Southeast Asia: Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. The participating teams will be divided into 4 small groups to play a round-robin. After that, AVC will draw the 2 teams with the highest results in each group to enter the quarter-finals (knockout).
