11/12 teams to participate in 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship determined

After the qualifying round on the evening of July 5, the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals have determined 6 more teams to qualify, bringing the total number of teams to 11.

The latest teams to book their places in Australia for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals are India (Group B), Chinese Taipei (Group D), Vietnam (Group E), Uzbekistan (Group F), Philippines (Group G) and North Korea (Group H).

Previously, the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals had determined 5 participating teams. Including 4 teams that did not participate in the qualifying round, namely Australia (host) and 3 teams: China, Japan and South Korea (the three teams with the highest rankings in the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup).

The fifth team is Bangladesh women's team - they won a ticket to the final round one round early in the qualifying round of Group C.

There is still one more place left in the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals, to be determined after the Group A qualifying round.

This is a group with the participation of Iran, Jordan (host), Lebanon, Singapore and Bhutan. According to the schedule, Group A of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship qualifiers starts on July 7 and ends on July 19.

Of the 11 teams that have qualified for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup, only Bangladesh will be participating for the first time. This will be a historic tournament for Bangladesh women's football.

The 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifiers will feature 34 teams, divided into eight groups: two groups of five teams and six groups of four teams. The eight group winners will qualify for the 2026 Asian Cup finals.

Currently, the 2026 Women's Asian Cup finals have determined the 4 participating teams: host Australia, the three teams with the best results in the 2022 Asian Cup are China, South Korea and Japan.

The 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals will feature 12 teams. The top six teams will qualify for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil (the next two teams will play in an inter-zone play-off).

The teams that reach the quarterfinals of the 2026 Women's Asian Cup will also participate in the final qualifying round for the 2028 Olympics.
