At around 7am today (December 24), the container truck was traveling on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, heading from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai. When reaching Km13+100 in Tam An Commune, Long Thanh District, Dong Nai Province, the front of the truck suddenly caught fire.

Discovering the fire, the driver drove into the emergency lane and tried to control the fire but failed.

The fire flared up fiercely and quickly engulfed the car, smoke billowing high.

Upon receiving the news, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6 under Department 6 of the Traffic Police Department coordinated with the fire prevention and fighting and rescue police in Dong Nai to approach the scene and control the fire.

Due to the impact of the incident, traffic on the highway from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai was congested for up to 5km.

Police are examining the scene and investigating the cause of the incident.
