Xiaomi wants to raise the bar for low-cost smartphones

Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of the next-generation member of its budget Redmi Note series called the Redmi Note 15 Pro+.

After the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ was introduced in China last September with a powerful configuration and impressive durability, Xiaomi's low-cost line is now focusing on the Redmi Note 15 Pro+. According to the latest report, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is expected to have a 1.5K resolution screen with a thin and symmetrical bezel design. Although the specific size has not been announced, it is likely that the device will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.

As for the camera, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ could come with a 50MP main camera and a 50MP telephoto camera, which is quite impressive in this price segment. That means the new model could retain the same resolution for both cameras as last year's version.

However, it should be noted that Xiaomi has released two versions of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, with one for China and one for the global market offering distinct differences in specifications. Notably, the international version has a 200MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.

What else has Xiaomi upgraded on Redmi Note 15+?

In terms of battery, Redmi Note 15 Pro+ can be equipped with a large battery from 7,000 mAh to 7,999 mAh, a significant increase compared to 6,200 mAh of the current version for the Chinese market. This promises to bring impressive battery life to users.

Xiaomi's smartphone market share surpasses Apple's, almost equal to Samsung's, but still falls behind in this point

Inside, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a step up from the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 found on the Redmi Note 14 Pro+. If this turns out to be the case, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will definitely be a value option for those looking for a budget yet powerful phone, especially if Xiaomi sticks to the same $379 price tag as its predecessor.

As mentioned, the global launch of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is usually slower than markets like China or India, and the final specifications of the global version are yet to be confirmed. It is likely that the phone will have a larger battery and a new generation chip.
