Cao Bang 1,000 actors and extras in Tay and Nung ethnic costumes performed Then singing and Tinh lute at Ban Gioc waterfall, Trung Khanh district, on the morning of October 7.
At exactly 10 o'clock, under the guidance of the Tinh lute artists, 1,000 people together created a performance of Then singing and Tinh lute next to Ban Gioc waterfall.
The performance lasted about 10 minutes with the theme "Origin and identity of Cao Bang". This is an important event within the framework of the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival 2023 organized by the People's Committee of Cao Bang province.
Meritorious Artist Hoang Kim Tue, Vice President of the Association for Preservation of Folk Songs of Ethnic Groups of Cao Bang Province, said that among the 1,000 participants, there were children and the elderly, all performing three songs together: Ban Gioc Moonlight, Road to My Village and Flowers of My Homeland.

Then singing and Tinh lute are unique folk music forms of the Tay and Nung people in Cao Bang. Then singing has existed for a long time, but until now, researchers of ethnic culture have not yet determined the time of its birth.
Then melodies are often sung during worshiping occasions, housewarming, longevity celebrations, weddings, grave-sweeping, funerals, coming-of-age ceremonies or Then festivals... In 2019, "Then practices of the Tay, Nung, and Thai people in Vietnam" was recognized by UNESCO as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
