TPO - In the first days of the year, fishing boats of Ha Tinh fishermen caught a lot of sea shrimp, each boat brought several tons of shrimp back to shore, after expenses, they still earned tens of millions of dong.

These days, at fishing ports and boat anchorages in the waters of Loc Ha and Nghi Xuan districts (Ha Tinh), fishing boats are bustling as tons of shrimp are caught and moving ashore.

Shrimp (also known as shrimp, sea shrimp) is the name of a type of ten-legged crustacean. Lives in coastal waters. Shaped like a small shrimp, only about 4-10mm, considered a specialty of the sea, with very high nutritional value.

Fishermen say that sea urchins often appear densely in coastal areas, about 1km from the shore. Fishermen do not need to go far from shore, the cost is low but the economic benefits are high.

In the first days of the year, the weather was favorable so each boat going out to sea brought in a large amount of seafood. In particular, small capacity boats fishing close to shore also caught tons of sea shrimp.

“Each trip to catch shrimp only lasts about 5-7 hours before we can return to shore to sell to traders to avoid the shrimp being left too long and losing its freshness. As soon as the shrimp is caught, traders buy it for 8,000-15,000 VND/kg, depending on the quality and freshness of the shrimp,” said fisherman Nguyen Thang (54 years old).

In the first days of the year, the weather was favorable so each boat going out to sea brought in a large amount of seafood. In particular, small boats fishing close to shore also caught tons of sea shrimp. They hurriedly brought the shrimp from the boat to shore to sell to traders.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao (residing in Thach Kim commune, Loc Ha district) said that for many days now, she has been purchasing about 5-6 tons of shrimp from fishing boats every day.

After buying, shrimp can be made into shrimp paste or dried to prepare other dishes.

Traders buy tons of shrimp every day, helping fishermen earn a good income.

In addition to shrimp, some 90CV boats fishing 3-5 nautical miles offshore have caught tons of sea sardines. With a selling price of 10,000 - 15,000 VND/kg, each fishing boat can earn tens of millions of VND.
