550 athletes compete at the 1st Cau Giay Ward Sports Tournament

This is an activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

In his opening speech, Director of the Center for Culture - Information and Sports of Cau Giay Ward Nguyen Truong Giang said that this year's sports tournament was the first time Cau Giay Ward organized it with the participation of more than 550 athletes from 54 residential groups and agencies, units and schools located in the area. The tournament was organized with 6 age groups for youth, teenagers, children, workers, civil servants, laborers and the elderly.

"With the hope that the sports tournament will not only be a useful playground to improve the physical and mental health of students, cadres, civil servants, employees, workers and people in the ward, but also an opportunity for units and athletes to exchange, learn, and bond more emotionally, together contributing to the successful implementation of socio -economic development tasks in the area, contributing to building Cau Giay to develop comprehensively, firmly entering a new era - the era of national growth" - Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang emphasized.

Athletes participating in the tournament compete in the following sports: Men's volleyball, women's volleyball, badminton, table tennis, pickleball.

Director of the Culture - Information and Sports Center of Cau Giay Ward Nguyen Truong Giang added that the sports tournament is also the basis for evaluating the training movement and professional level of athletes, promoting the movement of the whole people to exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho, building a healthy cultural and spiritual life, and strengthening the spirit of solidarity among the people.

In addition, from the competition results of the tournament, Cau Giay ward will select athletes with good professional qualifications to join the team to compete in tournaments in Hanoi city.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes entered the exciting competition at the Cultural - Information and Sports Center of Cau Giay ward.
