Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, from Nha Trang ( Khanh Hoa ), graduated from the Vocal Music Department - Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture and Arts in 2019.
In the same year, she participated in Sao Mai 2019, won first prize in the Southern region in the light music category and won second place nationwide.

Thanh Tam's name has made its mark through a number of ballad songs and is a familiar face on many television shows.
However, after a while, she stopped working due to many changes in her work, family and love life. At times, the female singer lost her passion to the point of not wanting to listen to music anymore.

“After a few years, I realized that my love for music was too great to give up. When I was happy, I turned to music, when I was sad, I also turned to it. I understood that I needed to change to break out, get out of my comfort zone and try new things,” the singer shared.
Thanh Tam revealed that she had been thinking about changing her stage name for many months to RENA. This name means “rebirth” in Latin, which is true to her thoughts on her new journey.
The runner-up of Sao Mai 2019 always wanted to be reborn, to live a new, joyful version of herself, no longer associated with sad songs. In addition, the stage name RENA is also easy to remember and easy for the audience to approach, so she decided to choose it.

Along with changing her stage name, the female singer also revealed a new music project called EUREKA , scheduled to be released on October 5.
If Thanh Tam was previously familiar with ballads, RENA decided to try her hand at R&B - a competitive and technically demanding music genre.
“Before, when I performed, I often pleased the audience with easy-to-listen songs, considering it a way to nurture my passion.
But deep inside, I always longed to do what I loved, to explore my own limits. EUREKA was my first step to making that happen,” the young singer confided.

After 6 years since Sao Mai, RENA said this is not just a simple comeback but a wholehearted dedication to music.
She wants to bring the image of a young, confident artist, daring to step out of her comfort zone and ready to compete in difficult music genres.
“My friends have gotten used to calling me RENA. This time, I want the audience to know that the runner-up of Sao Mai 2019 has been reborn with a new version, stronger, younger and more devoted to music,” RENA affirmed.
