An Giang completed the implementation of electronic medical records 15 days ahead of the Prime Minister's direction.

On the morning of September 15, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quang Hien, Director of the An Giang Department of Health, said: By September 15, 2025, the entire An Giang province had 46/46 medical examination and treatment facilities assessed to deploy electronic medical records (reaching a rate of 100%). With this result, An Giang has completed the deployment of electronic medical records 15 days ahead of the Prime Minister's direction in Directive No. 07/CT-TTg dated March 14, 2025 dated September 30, 2025.

This result is a great effort of An Giang Department of Health in implementing Directive No. 07/CT-TTg, dated March 14, 2025 of the Prime Minister on promoting the implementation of the project to develop applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation and the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of An Giang province on digital transformation and Project 06.

The implementation of electronic medical records helps medical examination and treatment facilities manage medical records quickly and accurately, minimizing errors in recording; patient information is stored centrally, retrieved promptly, serving consultation, emergency, and scientific research. At the same time, it helps patients reduce waiting time, conveniently look up medical examination and treatment information; supports people in using medical services through chip-embedded citizen identification cards and electronic health books; helps health sector leaders have tools to monitor and supervise service quality; supports electronic health insurance payments, reducing administrative procedures.

Although there are still many difficulties, but with the attention and direction of the Ministry of Health, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the efforts of the units, the implementation of electronic medical records will achieve sustainable results in the coming time.
