At an altitude of about 230 m in the sky above Washington (USA), a brand new and modern helicopter of the US Capitol Police Department will be on duty on the day of the inauguration of President Donald Trump tonight (Vietnam time).
People patiently stood in the wind, snow, and hail to wait their turn to enter the Capital One Arena on January 19.
The helicopter, piloted by Jeff Hertel, was performing aerial surveillance of the crowd during Donald Trump's inauguration. "And spotted suspicious vehicles on the outskirts, large trucks and things like that," CBS quoted the pilot as saying.
Mr. Hertel said the helicopter allows law enforcement officials to have remote viewing capabilities.

'Divine eye' in the sky
"You might see a car speeding by, or you might look at the roof in the dark to check if there's an intruder, or if the subject is carrying a weapon?" the pilot said.
The camera system on the helicopter can read license plates at a distance of more than 300 meters, sending real-time images to the crime processing center of the Capital Police Department.
A US Capitol Police helicopter is deployed above the White House on January 19.
"The helicopters allow us to really see what's happening across the city, especially in large crowds," CBS News quoted Metropolitan Police Department Director Pamela Smith.
Ms Smith said police forces were on high alert for the risk of "lone wolf" attacks, or copycat terrorist attacks.

Security forces set up multiple protective rings around the White House.
While the official events of Mr. Trump's inauguration took place indoors, the Capitol Police Department remained prepared in case protests broke out outside of secured locations.
Eight years ago, hundreds of people were arrested while protesting against Mr. Trump during his first inauguration in 2017.
Ms. Smith said the number of police patrolling high-risk areas has been increased, and security for the capital is being supported by national guard forces in other US states.

Trump supporters brave wind, snow and hail
Meanwhile, thousands of Trump supporters waited patiently in line for hours despite hail and heavy snow in Washington to attend his final rally before the inauguration.
Lines of supporters stretched through several blocks, with soldiers guiding people in the right direction to Capital One, the capital's 20,000-seat arena.
Temporary fences are erected in Washington DC during the inauguration ceremony.
"I'm glad to be here to support (him)," said Loren Stephenson, 40, who wrapped an American flag tightly around her head to shield herself from the hail. "It's been a long day, but overall everyone is in a great mood," she said.
Ms. Stephenson said she had lined up since 6 a.m. on January 19 to ensure she could get inside the Capital One Arena to witness Mr. Trump's victory celebration.

Christina Overby, a 53-year-old office worker, is eagerly awaiting the moment when Mr. Trump returns to the White House.
"He will help us get back on track," AFP quoted Ms. Overby as saying, adding that she supports the decision to deport illegal immigrants, who she believes have deprived Americans like her family of opportunities.
Mr. Trump and members of the Village People performance group at a rally at Capitol One Arena on January 19.
As the snowfall intensified, supporters were eager to get inside the arena as quickly as possible, especially when groups like Village People and Kid Rock took the stage.
But for Mrs. Overby, she didn't come here to watch other people dance on stage.
"I want to see my president. That's why I'm here," she concluded.
