The Decree took effect at the same time that Mr. Tran Sam ( Binh Phuoc block, Tien Phuoc commune) turned 75 years old. Having received information from the social protection officer of Tien Phuoc commune People's Committee, he completed the procedures to receive social pension benefits according to Decree 176. To date, Mr. Sam has received the decision to receive the benefits and will be paid 2 months of social pension in July and August 2025, with a subsidy of 500,000 VND/month. Along with that is a free health insurance card for the elderly.

Mr. Sam happily said: “My wife and I do not have a pension, our life depends mainly on the grocery store. Now the State's policy of social pension benefits for people aged 75 and over, plus free health insurance cards, helps us feel more secure in life.”

Or like Mrs. Tran Thi Kim Sang (79 years old, An Dong block, Tien Phuoc commune) has just received a decision on monthly social pension benefits from July 2025. Mrs. Sang's husband received this regime when he turned 80 years old 2 years ago, and she is now receiving it when the prescribed age is 75 years old.

“The monthly allowance helps us with our expenses, and having a health insurance card helps us worry less when we get sick in old age,” said Ms. Sang.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Tan, a social protection officer of the Department of Culture and Society (People's Committee of Tien Phuoc commune), from July 2025, after stabilizing the commune's work after the reorganization, officers of the Department of Culture and Society announced the new policy according to Decree 176 to the people.

Tien Phuoc Commune was established from 4 old communes, so the officers of the Department of Culture and Society came to the headquarters of the 4 old communes to make it convenient for people to come and complete the documents. In cases of illness or old age that cannot come to complete the documents, the officers of the Department of Culture and Society went directly to the house to support them to receive the regime in August 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Hung Anh, Chairman of Tien Phuoc Commune People's Committee said: "The entire Tien Phuoc commune currently has 780 elderly people aged 75 and over and 1,416 disabled people who are entitled to social allowances and social pensions according to regulations. Although the new policy was implemented at a time when the commune level was busy with work after the merger, we thoroughly understood the spirit of supporting the elderly and disabled people to complete their records in a timely manner, ensuring that the payment regime reaches the beneficiaries as soon as possible.

Up to now, all the elderly aged 75 and over, the new supplementary subjects, have been decided to receive social pension benefits, which is a good thing. This is truly a humane policy, helping the disadvantaged in society to have conditions to improve their living standards, helping the locality to effectively implement social security policies for the people.
