On the afternoon of January 1, Mr. Trinh Hang, Director of the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, said that during the three days of the 2024 New Year holiday, the number of visitors to the locality increased compared to the same period last year.
The number of tourists from Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City coming to Vung Tau to swim this year is higher than last year.
The total number of tourists visiting , entertaining, and staying at hotels, tourist areas, and beaches in the province in 3 days was about 209,020, an increase of 43.19% over the same period in 2023, with room occupancy reaching 80%.
Specifically, the number of overnight guests reached 35,216, an increase of 24.93% over the same period. Visitors to beaches and entertainment venues reached about 164,786. Tourism revenue during the holiday reached over 170 billion VND, an increase of nearly 59% compared to 2023.
During the 3-day holiday, to best serve tourists and local people, districts, cities and towns simultaneously organized activities including the Countdown 2024 program "LET'S PARTY; Vung Tau Five Continents Culinary Festival 2023...
In addition, local accommodation establishments also offer many discount promotions, music nights and New Year's Eve parties... In particular, ensuring food hygiene and safety for tourists is given special attention, with no incidents occurring.
People stood packed at the area where the program ended the old year and welcomed the new year in Vung Tau.
In Vung Tau city, authorities promptly rescued and brought safely to shore 3 cases that were caught in a whirlpool and washed far from shore by waves.
Prevented 6 cases of tourists bringing food to the beach, dispersed street vendors in parks and squares. At the same time, made 2 administrative violation records for street vending. Directly supported 40 visitors with sightseeing spots, cuisine, hotel services in Vung Tau city, helped find, care for and hand over to the families of 6 lost children.
In Xuyen Moc, authorities and people have joined forces to clean up trash on the beach, and rented trash sorting machines to filter trash to help keep the beach clean and beautiful.
Ms. Nguyen Lan Anh from Binh Duong province said that every year during the holidays she takes her two children to Vung Tau beach to swim, have fun, and eat seafood.
This year's holiday was long, so according to Ms. Anh, there were many tourists coming to the locality. According to Ms. Anh, this year there were no cases of overcharging or price gouging, so the family's beach trip was fun and successful.
Vung Tau coastal road is packed with tourists.
"My whole family loves swimming in the sea, so the sunny and windy weather like these days is very favorable. Almost every year my whole family comes here for 2-3 days during the holidays.
"I hope the locality will have more and more impressive entertainment spots for tourists to explore," Ms. Anh shared.
Similarly, Mr. Hoang Nam, living in Dong Nai province, said that on this occasion, his family chose to swim at Long Hai beach because the services were quite cheap, the food was delicious, and there were many attractive dishes.
Mr. Nam said that every year he takes his family to Ba Ria - Vung Tau to swim in the sea 1-2 times, so he hopes the locality will have many changes in beach tourism.
